Tablet weaving by Linda Hendrickson: Copper wire for warp and weft

For this experiment in 1999, I used 24-gauge copper wire for warp, 28-gauge copper wire for weft. I wound the wire onto four separate spools using my electric bobbin winder, and then put the spools on a spool rack. Made a continuous warp with 24 tablets. The weave structures shown are (left to right) basket weave with 4 warps moving together, basket weave with 2 warps moving together, warp twining (including a few turns without weft), and gauze weave. I tried to keep the warps slightly apart, which is most evident in the warp-twined section.
